Pool Equipment

Simple Safe and Sparkling

Pool care is simple when you have the right pumping and filtration equipment.  Pools are a great source of enjoyment and relaxation, but if the equipment is not working correctly you will only become frustrated.

Innisfail Chemex can help you to enjoy your pool and ensure that you get the best from your equipment with only a minimum of fuss. We believe that your pool is one of your largest investments and needs to be looked after on a regular basis.

Pool water must be circulated for maximum chemical effectiveness. If your filter doesn’t operate properly, neither will the products you add to the pool.  Make sure the filtration and circulation systems is in clean operating order. The more your water is in motion, the harder it is for bacteria and algae to take hold in your pool. Your system should run a minimum of 8-10 hours in summer and a minimum of 4-6 hours in winter each day.

The filter is one of the most important pieces of equipment. It removes both visible debris and microsopic matter.  Filters should be backwashed regularly (check your manufacturers guidelines).  Backwashing does not remove oil, scale or deeply embedded debris and therefore needs to be chemically cleaned regularly.

Innisfail Chemex can help you with a filter maintenance program.

Sand Filters:

Sand filters use a specially graded glass as the filter media.  The water enters the tank through the diffuser.  As the water goes down through the bed of glass, the dirt and debris are trapped between the grains.  When the water reaches the bottom of the filter, it enters the laterals and is returned to the pool. Sand filters can now filter out debris to very low microns.

Diatomaceous Earth Filters:

DE Filters use diatomaceous earth as a filter media.  The DE Filter has plastic grids covered with a plastic type of fabric.  A layer of filter powder called diatomaceous earth covers the grids and does the filtering.  The water passes throught the filter powder and any debris are filterd out.  Because the DE is finer than the old sand filters they were able to filter much more finely.

Cartridge Filters:

Cartridge filters use a paper-type cartridge as the filter media.  They do not filter as finely as DE filters.

Pumps and Motors:

Salt Water Chlorinators:

Salt Chlorinators produce chlorine when salt is added to the pool water.  The water passes through a salt cell and this converts salt in the pool water to chlorine destroying harmful bacteria and viruses.  A salt chlorinator alone cannot fully maintain a salt pool.  Its function is purely to kill bacteria.  A BioGuard (R) Salt Pool Partner Range is designed specifially for salt pools.  Innisfail Chemex can help you maintain and bring out the best in your salt pool using a simple maintenance program.
